Episode 6: Worship

When you think about health and wellness, you probably think about nutrition and exercise. You might also think about stress management. If you’ve listened to episode 2 of The Southern Fried Girlfriends podcast, you might also think about relationships and friends! But do you think about your spiritual life as part of your wellbeing?

I do! I fully believe that when my spirit is in the right “position” – that is when I recognize who I am in Christ and that God is absolutely in control of every single thing, even the things I don’t understand, even the bad things, even the things that may make me cry or shake my head – I am healthier. I am calmer. I am more peaceful, kinder, more patient and loving…to myself and others. Worship is one of the key things that helps me get to that place of calm reflection. In worship, I find myself immersed in gratitude and when I am truly grateful, I cannot be angry, resentful, or stressed out.

That’s why I was so happy that Dee and I were able to welcome my Girlfriend Caroline Fidell to the show.

Caroline is a wife, stay at home mother of two beautiful and crazy boys, and worship leader for City Church Marietta. She loves spending time with friends and family, traveling, design, binge watching tv shows, and all things music.

I would add that she is a wonderful, gentle, authentic woman who loves Jesus and others. She has a beautiful voice and she has learned the act of entering into the presence of God and taking others along with her. In this episode of the Southern Fried Girlfriends podcast, Dee and I, along with Caroline, share our thoughts on the idea of Worship as a Way of Life. I hope you enjoy this time with us and that it encourages you today.

Want more worship in your life?
One of my favorite worship songs is 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redmond. You can listen to it on YouTube here. And another one is King of the World by Natalie Grant here. Yet another is What a Wonderful Name by Hillsong United here.
Caroline suggested these books The Air I Breathe by Louie Giglio, Extravagant Worship by Darlene Zschech, and Here I am to Worship by Tim Hughes.
