I was on the road again last week and thought I’d give you a peek into the fun!
Travel always starts with packing a bunch of healthy snacks and some options for breakfast in case I’m in a hotel that doesn’t provide a good one.
But then I usually splurge on something while I’m in the airport waiting for my flight. Case in point…Willy’s! I get a spicy chicken burrito with black beans, no rice, lettuce, salsa, cheese, extra spicy adobe sauce, fresh cilantro, and sometimes guac.
Then…I wait. And sometimes wait some more. Flying can be unpredictable sometimes and there were lots of storms during my in and outbound flights.
I try to find words of wisdom. This was a good one!
After a night’s rest, I’m up early and ready to lead my nutrition education session.
I (not so secretly) wished that I was presenting in the Collins room.
Then, it’s back to the airport again…just in time for another treat. You’ve already heard my tips for healthy travel in a previous post. I’d say the thing that I focused on this trip was using my time wisely. If I’m going to be awake, without a lot of specific tasks to do (because I’m stuck in an airport), plan to use the time to read, catch up on negligent email follow ups and friendships, and facetime with my family. And relish the opportunity to just plain rest.
